Houdini

Mia, you have many tricks. Here are a few in no particular order.

1. You can take your diaper off during nap time in your crib. That alone is not spectacular. What makes this interesting is that you manage this while sleeping in a sleep sack that zips up to your neckline. You awaken, sleep sack in tact, diaper off and nestled in the bottom of the sack.

2. We put you in the car with two socks and two shoes on your two feet. When we arrive at our destination, you are frequently wearing one sock and two shoes. Sometimes we find the other sock, some times we do not.

3. You can stand up in a highchair. Again, not remarkable, except for the fact that you are buckled in to the highchair at the time.

4. Hair bands and hair clips routinely disappear in your presence. I have literally purchased nearly 100 hair bands. Your inability to keep them in your hair sometimes leaves your hair looking a tad like Nick Nolte's mug shot. Photo coming.

5. My favorite, and not really a trick, but certainly worth a mention, is our bedtime routine. We usually nurse and then read books before bed. But on a big night out, you may be too tired for books. Just when I think you are asleep - eyes closed, deep breathing- you'll stop nursing, sit up, say "thank you" and give me a kiss on the mouth. A variation of this is that you'll sometimes sit up, wave, and say "hi", before continuing to nurse and doze lightly.
