Sophie, you are a ball of energy and sunshine and exuberance. You wake up each morning alerting us that "the cow's awake" on the clock in your room, and then you hit the ground running. First stop - wardrobe change. Second stop - wardrobe change. Third stop - wardrobe change. You have a need to change your clothes and accessories constantly. At this point, I don't make any effort to get you dressed in clothes that match the event or weather until it's within minutes of the time we need to leave.
You love to carry stuff around with you. To be specific, you usually want to carry three things around with you. Three stuffed animals, three pairs of tights, three dresses, and three spoons are a common rotation. You've never commented on the need for three, but you always select three things to accompany you around the house.
You had your first full visit to the dentist. You were so excited. You walked in and immediately told the hygenist everything we'd told you about the appointment: I'm going to get glasses, and you're going to count my teeth and brush my teeth, and I'll get a goody bag and I'll get a coin... The kicker was when you noticed their assortment of Disney stuffed animals: "I HAVE WINNIE THE POOH AT HOME, I HAVE TIGER AT HOME, I HAVE MINNIE AT HOME..." I repeat, you were excited. Feeling bold, I'd actually scheduled your dentist appointment at the same time as Zoe and Mia's check ups. When you weren't all three in chairs at the same time, you were holding each other's hands and talking gently to each other while the hygentist and dentist did their work. It was incredibly sweet.

We go swimming nearly every week and you do art/movement and gymnastics classes. We also attend story times and music events. You are eager for school though. You rush to get your back pack on when it's time for Zoe and Mia to go to school.

At dinner time, you went through a phase when you liked to pop out of your seat - a lot. This was driving daddy and I close to distraction because it has a domino effect. You'd pop up and then eventually so would Zoe and Mia. Fortunately, that phase is just about over.
Sleep has gotten a lot better too. About every two weeks though, you'll go through a phase of waking either during nap or during the night being utterly unconsolable. You'll thrash around and pull at your sheets, clothes, and hair and sometimes complain of feeling itchy. After a couple of weeks of these episodes happening every few days, it stops for a stint. The pediatrician thinks it may be a version of night terrors or something similar that you'll grow out of. We already see you growing out of it and are so happy for you. Fortunately, most days you sleep really soundly.
Recently, you surprised me when you opened a book and said all the words as you turned the pages. I had no idea that you were already memorizing books. In general, you are a talker and have a real gift for language. I love hearing your stories and answering your questions - even when asked over and over and over again.
