I count myself very lucky that we've enjoyed another month where you genuinely prefer to be with each other and enjoy being together. You play board games together, do puzzles, swim, ride bikes, and cuddle. No doubt, there are times when you need your own space, but more often than not, you like to be with each other.

Dance Firsts - Zoe and Sophie
Sophie, this month you had your first ballet class. You were so excited to wear the ballet clothes and were a natural at following the movements the teacher demonstrated. It was so much fun to watch you enjoy yourself as much as you did.
Zoe, you were in a full-fledged dance recital. You participated in two dances, one ballet and one tap. You seemed really relaxed and comfortable on stage, and you loved getting dressed and ready for the event. You did a costume change between the two dances, participated in a dress rehearsal, and then ultimately performed on a large stage at a high school auditorium. Afterwards, we all went out to celebrate. You were really proud of yourself. The year before, you had felt very cautious about the idea of performing on stage. This year, you completely enjoyed it and had no qualms at all about participating. Well done!

Grandpa Randy and Grandma Mickey Visit
A huge thank you to grandpa Randy and grandma Mickey who came to visit so dad and I could take a trip to Japan. While we were away, grandma and grandpa took you to the pool and on all kinds of outings. You even got to go fishing!
End of Year School Fun
The end of the school year is a whirlwind of activities. Here's a snapshot of a few of them.
Ashlawn's fun fair. You usually request that I volunteer at the moon bounce so you can stay and jump for a long time. After my shift was up, you ran around for hours doing the activities. Watching you do the sack races was one of my favorites.
Mia, you took a class field trip to a farm. You loved seeing the animals. The highlights for you were (1) that your dad chaperoned the trip which was a huge treat for you, and (2) a pig has just had a litter and you got to watch all the little piglets.
Zoe, your Spanish end of year recital was really fun to watch. You even had a solo to launch the show.

BBB #8
It's hard to believe that the Milk Moms celebrated a birthday bash for the eighth time. It's amazing to see how much our little colony has grown. No longer are we sitting on the floor trying to keep kids from putting things in their mouths. We've come a long way! Happy birthday to all.

Mother's Day - 2013
I had the best mother's day ever in the history of mother's day. You all were so wonderful to let me sleep in and enjoy a quite morning. We went out and had a fun lunch together. You made me sweet cards and gifts. We finished the day by playing together at our annual block party.
Block Party 2013
We had our annual block party this year with a Cinco de Mayo theme. It's amazing how this fiesta has taken on a life of it's own. It's grown from a small event with just a handful of kids to a party that is nearly 100 strong - 40 of which are kids. This year we had a moon bounce, a soccer game, face painting, games and toys, an ice cream truck appearance, tattoos, arts and crafts, and a coloring house. You all take a lot of pride in helping to plan and set it up. It's extra special for you that you get to stay up late and help clean up too.
Zoe, I have no pictures of you because you were too busy running in and out of the moon bounce and on and off the soccer field! :)
